I just got engaged this past weekend, and I couldn't be happier with my experience at Skatell's Jewelers in Charlotte. Mike took exceptional care of me throughout the entire process.

I was referred to them by a friend and they exceeded all expectations by miles. The owner helped us pick out my wife’s wedding set as well as my wedding band. The owner was incredible friendly and patient with us as we looked through all the different options for the wedding set and answered all our questions. He was never pushy and made the experience really enjoyable. He helped me pick out my wedding band and was incredibly patient with me as well. He took his time and showed me rings that were a design that I thought I wanted. Then he pulled out a ring with to show us sandblasted gold. Although it was not a style that I had initially considered, that ring was the winner. They are 3 for 3 and I plan on using them for any and all jewelry purchases. You can’t go wrong with them.

Actually, all you said in advance was “bring it in and we’ll look at it”. The day I came in you never got beyond saying that I had caused the damage or that it was my fault. All I wanted was for you to repair it at your cost because it the prong absolutely should not have broken after only three years. I would have gladly accepted that offer, and would have even paid for the stone had you made that offer. Instead you were belligerent and accusatory and showed zero interest in helping.

When trying to figure out where to purchase my fiancée's engagement ring, I spent a lot of time researching options in the Charlotte area. I visited a number of stores but after my visit to Skatells my decision was easy. Mike and his team spent nearly 2 hours with me on my first visit. I had an idea of what I was looking for but Mike went above and beyond to not only make sure we put together the perfect ring, but he was also incredibly knowledgeable and informative about the industry. We went into Skatell’s after reading their reviews, to have them look at my great aunt’s engagement ring (over 100 years old). They did an amazing job adding new stones where they were missing and brought the gold back to its beautiful luster. We then had them redesign my own engagement ring. Make this family-owned jeweler your primary jeweler like I did - you won't regret it!

I went into Skatell's in search of an engagement ring after I was recommended to check them out by one of my friends. We went to all the major retailers (Jared's, Fink's, Diamonds Direct, etc.), but there's no chance they would be able to take care of us like Jesse at Skatell's. I was new to diamond buying and they made the process so easy and seamless! We got a beautiful ring and a jeweler for life! I was so pleased with the communication, process, pricing and just everything about it. They made a task - that made me feel nervous at first - feel so easy and they treated me so well! Couldn't be more pleased with Skatell's and all of their staff!!

I lost my wedding rings! Skatell’s had designed a gorgeous setting in 2008. I called them on the off chance they had notes of the design. They actually had the design in their CAD system! Mike was so responsive and went the extra mile to make sure the new setting/quality of the stones were exact. He was honest, quick to respond and reassuring. The craftsmanship is second to none. Oh and did I forget to mention, this entire transaction was handled long distance! I can’t recommend Mike and Skatell’s any higher. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Recently ordered and received a custom wedding ring from these folks and couldn't have had a better experience. Our budget was modest, yet we were given all the attention and care I could have possibly asked for. The custom order took only a week to have ready, even accounting for the large storm. Communication was efficient, and they even re-sized and deep cleaned the ring we already had so we could use it as a wedding band per my fiancé's ask. Phenomenal business and they've earned me as a customer for life.

I cannot recommend Skatell’s enough. My first purchase was my wife’s engagement ring. Jesse worked tirelessly for me to get not only a beautiful stone in the right setting but easily half the price of other competitors. He gave me guidance via text message and with my busy schedule that was a big help. The process was definitely more educational than sales oriented to allow me the make the best decision for my budget which this ring came well under that. All of my other purchases for jewelry were all made at Skatell’s. Three pair ls of earrings, a mother’s ring, and a necklace. We live in Maine and all the packages were sent fully insured within two days. My wife travels to NC for work a few times a year and always stops in to get her rings and jewelry cleaned. Jesse and Katie treat her like family. Their customer service is top notch. You will not find a better experience anywhere in the country. While they’re a small family owned business, they have multiple shops and all the resources of a large “big box” company.

My mom recommended Skatell’s to me after getting her wedding band here years ago and it did not disappoint. I had recently lost my engagement ring and had decided to put my mother’s diamond from her engagement ring into a new setting. The man that was assisting us (I wish I could remember his name) was so amazingly helpful and made the process so smooth. He presented us with many different options of settings and genuinely seemed to care that I got exactly what I wanted versus pushing the most expensive options. The whole process was seamless and the ring was ready for pick up in less than 48 hours. They cleaned my mom’s 20+ year old diamond so well that it looks brand new! Overall this store made the loss of something so important to me a wonderful experience. I can’t recommend them enough.

I went to Skatell’s on the recommendation of a friend to have them look at my wedding band set to see if they could add a halo and make some other adjustments. From the minute I walked into their store, I knew I was in good hands. Mike carefully walked me through the options and suggested a beautiful setting which would complement my diamond and wedding band setting. The work was done quickly and Mike was in communication with me throughout the process. I picked up my rings today and to say I’m pleased is an understatement. Could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish. For starters, Mike welcomed me right when I walked in and was thorough, yet simple and direct with describing my options. Wasn't trying to oversell anything. Then, once they produced the first ring, I practically had a heart attack when I realized I chose a different ring than what my (now) Fiance had wanted. I called Mike in panic and sent him the photo of the correct ring I had found on my phone from years ago. He calmed me down, told me to come in, and we arranged a new setting and a few heart skips later we had the PERFECT ring. I can assure you at any other place I would have been left in the dust and maybe even forced to buy an entirely new ring. If you are looking for a family owned, hands on, customized experience, with a jeweler who has YOUR best interest, this is your place. Prices, more than fair. Experience, exceptional. My in-laws have been coming here for years, so when I inherited my great-grandmother's engagement ring, and wanted to have it reset, we went to them first. The whole team was great. We ended up designing a custom setting that I can wear every day. They helped me pick out gemstones to add to the setting, and they even 3D printed the setting for me to see before they made the real thing. Everything about this process was so much fun, and their prices were fair on top of all that. I recommend this jeweler to anyone looking for something custom.

I was looking for a local jeweler to help create a custom engagement ring using three different pieces of family jewels and it was proving to be a difficult task. I had gone to two other jewelers that didn’t really understand or match my vision. I had started working with another jeweler and not only was the process painstakingly slow, but they also told us our stones were fake. I decided to get another opinion at Skatell’s. Dana was incredibly helpful and informative while grading my gems and taking detailed notes on the vision I had for my ring. She allowed me to watch her whole process of looking at the stones and jewelry, and even had me take a look at them myself – turns out they were real after all. Dana gave me such a good feeling that my engagement ring vision would be in good hands that I cancelled what we were doing with the other jeweler. She handed off the notes she took about my ideas to Laura, and she ran with them. A process that had taken over two months at the other place, took Laura a week. Not only did she take my ideas into consideration, but my concerns as well (stability and security of the ring and stones). My ring came out beautifully and it is even better than what I was picturing in my head. I am beyond pleased with my experience at Skatell’s and will be raving about them to everyone and anyone who gets engaged. When I was starting to plan for proposing to my girlfriend, my close friends couldn't have more highly recommended Skatell's for the engagement ring and to work with Laura. I heard consistently that she was incredibly thoughtful and easy to work with and that the whole process of working with Skatell's was ideal. Great selection, not over-priced, not pushy, etc. They make you feel like a priority and you never feel like you are "being sold".

They could not have been more right. Every interaction with Laura was incredibly easy and she helped me design a custom ring (with no input from my now finacee). She does a great job teaching you everything you need to know and ultimately helped me make some great choices. My finacee described it as her "dream ring" and said it's exactly what she would have picked out.

The entire experience at Skatell’s was A-1, top of the line. Buying an engagement ring can be a daunting task with so much to consider. Mike and his family guided me through the process and helped me make the decision that was best for me. I learned a lot through the process and every time I left the shop it was with more knowledge and a smile on my face. The fact that Skatell’s is a family run business made me feel at home. You can feel the genuine enthusiasm and passion they have for their craft and customers. After much consideration, I purchased the diamond ring that my wife will wear for the rest of her life. Now life’s simple pleasures include watching her constantly staring at and receiving compliments for her ring. Couldn’t have done it without Mike and his whole family. My fiancé went to Skatell’s and the ring is absolutely stunning. The diamond is beautiful quality with a timeless setting. Following our engagement, we went back to Skatell’s to get sized - we were greeted and congratulated upon entering. Mike was an expert in sizing and answered all of our questions. He offered a complimentary cleaning of not only my ring, but other jewelry as well. He even went as far to fix up my other rings at no cost. My fiancé' and I honestly can’t say enough good things about our experience at Skatell’s. Mike and his staff went absolutely above and beyond the normal offerings to design a custom ring for us. Not only did Mike and his staff deliver, they knocked the custom design out of the park and we could not have been more pleased. We highly recommend you visit this store before you visit elsewhere around Charlotte, as you’ll be treated like family and presented with a wealth of knowledge. You truly won’t find better prices, quality or service anywhere else.

Mike and the staff at Skatell's go absolutely above and beyond with their offerings and customer service. With their custom design services, they were able to help me turn a vision into a reality for my now fiance's engagement ring. They built a stunning piece that she will cherish forever! If you are considering engagement and don't know where to start, your first and only stop should be this establishment, as you will get no better quality, price or service anywhere else!
